Mia Brine is an award-winning pianist, vocalist, composer and clarinet/saxophonist. She graduated from WAAPA in 2005 with a Bachelor of Performing Arts in classical clarinet and piano.

In 2021 Mia was the Musical Director/Choral Arranger with the West Australian Symphony Orchestra and Voyces for “Hymns for End Times” which was nominated for the APRA/AMCOS Notated Performance of the year and in 2020 had transcribed and arranged the musical “Bran Nue Dae” – and toured with the show on keyboard for Opera Australia.

Mia has performed as Keyboard 2 – “Book of Mormon” (Crown Theatre),”The Nutcracker” on Celeste with the West Australian Philharmonic Orchestra and Keyboard 2 in the recently staged version of “Chess” at the Perth Concert Hall. She played Keyboard 2 in the Perth season of “Jersey Boys” and has performed in over twenty professional musicals on saxophone, clarinet and flute.

In 2006 Mia worked with the New College Choir in Oxford, UK and had her choral composition ‘Silent Weeping’ recorded by jazz composer Ed Partyka and the Sunday Night Orchestra on his album ‘Overcast’. She also wrote/performed the score for the sell out show “The Good Thief” at the Blue Room Theatre and also the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Some of Mia’s recent credits include the Perth season of the Australian Touring productions of Grease, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Wicked, Georgy Girl, Mamma Mia!, Ghost, workshops with the Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company and delivering musical theatre workshops in Shanghai.

In 2023 Mia will be the Associate Musical Director for ‘& Juliet’ with the Australian premiere in Melbourne.
